Community Soup Kitchen

Objectives

Ø
Provide one hot meal per day, to individuals who would not have a meal otherwise.
Ø

Educate individuals accessing the food bank and the soup kitchen in the preparation of quality low costs meals.

One hot meal is provided two times per week at the Lac La Biche Canadian Native Friendship Centre from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.  A certified journeyman cook prepares the meals along with volunteer assistance provided by adult clients accessing the foodbank and older youth in training that are between the ages of 16 to 19 years of age.  Cost to participants of the Community Soup Kitchen program is free.
